Celestia, explore our universe in three dimensions

Celestia is The free space simulation that lets we explore our universe in three dimensions.
we can travel throughout the solar system, to any of over 100,000 stars, or even beyond the galaxy.
the exponential zoom feature lets we explore space across a huge range of scales, from galaxy clusters down to spacecraft only a few meters across. A 'point-and-goto' interface makes it simple to navigate through the universe to the object we want to visit, celestia seamless movement
Celestia comes with a large catalog of stars, galaxies, planets, moons, asteroids, comets, and spacecraft. If that's not enough, we can download dozens of easy to install add-ons with more objects.
Celestia runs on Windows, Linux, and Mac OS X.

This program was designed for ease of use as a trip simulator. maybe we  found it a bit difficult to set up a night sky as viewed from my location. but i suggest one of the other programs might be better for that purpose. However, there are add ins to expand the catalogs and images of comets, stars, solar system objects, and deep space objects.  we can even add in fictional objects such as Star Wars, Star Trek, Babylon 5, etc.
